Celebrating Irish Business on St Patrick’s Day
St Patrick’s Day is usually a day celebrated across Ireland and the UK as a whole, and while we may not be able to head down to the pub for a pint of Guinness we can take a look at some of the positive data coming out of Ireland in recent months and celebrate business achievements, as Chris White outlines here in this infographic.
Ireland, like every country in the world, has been affected by the pandemic but there have been some truly encouraging signs coming out of the Emerald Isle in recent months.
Since 1st January 2021 we have listed 76 opportunities on Clarity Stack from across Ireland, working out at more than one per day, indicating that business in Ireland is starting to pick up again and companies are looking to invest in services once more.
So as we celebrate St Patrick’s Day and all things Irish on 17th March, we wanted to celebrate business in Ireland and how they are recovering as we move towards the light at the end of the tunnel.
What is notable is that more than £22 million-worth of business has come out of Ireland in 2021, working out at more than £7 million per month, with an average value of more than £293,000 per opportunity.
In fact, 50 per cent of all Irish opportunities made available on Clarity Stack this year have been valued at between £20,000 and £95,000, with 29 per cent valued at £100,000 or more.
Businesses based in the two capital cities, Dublin and Belfast, have released the most opportunities as we might expect, but business is also flourishing in areas such as Cork, Derry and Newry.
It’s clear that the tech industry in particular has been popular with a large proportion of opportunities – 23 of the 76 – based around either web design or development projects. For those outside Ireland it might seem peculiar that Ireland has such a thriving tech sector, but when you consider that the likes of Google and Facebook have offices in Ireland it’s easy to see why so many businesses in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland are looking to invest in digital services.
