The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force on the 25th May 2018. With this date approaching fast, we’ve conducted market research into the UK business community to gauge levels of awareness and preparation.

This data was collected during December 2017, with the GDPR implementation date only 6 months away. However, we’ve found that a startling number of UK businesses are either unaware of their new obligations, or are completely unprepared as to how to respond to the changes.

The business community seems split on this issue – there are those who are hyper-prepared and very concerned about the impact of GDPR, whereas the majority seem to be taking a ‘wait-and-see’ approach even though the scale of the punishments for non-implementation could be catastrophic to many businesses.

Our survey has included 2,320 UK based businesses from a range of locations, industries, and sizes. We’ve broken down the results by business category and size to give a balanced picture of the business community.
